Who we are
Menopause Reviewed is an independent editorial publication founded in 2026. We're researchers, writers, and women navigating perimenopause and menopause ourselves. The questions we asked our own doctors — and the answers we couldn't find in plain language — are the questions we now research and publish.
We are not physicians. We do not provide medical advice. Every article is a research summary, not a treatment plan. For decisions about your own health, work with a clinician who has training in menopause care — ideally one certified by The Menopause Society.
Our editorial methodology
Every article on this site follows the same five-step process.
1. We start with the question, not the headline.
Topics come from real reader questions, gaps in the existing literature, and inconsistencies between mainstream coverage and primary research. We don't write for SEO trends.
2. We read the primary sources.
We prioritize, in this order: Cochrane systematic reviews, society guidelines (The Menopause Society, NAMS, Endocrine Society, ACOG, NICE, NHS), randomized controlled trials, and well-conducted observational studies. We treat industry-funded studies, single-clinic case series, and influencer claims with appropriate skepticism.
3. We cite everything.
Every factual claim links to a primary source. If we can't link a claim to a citable source, we either cut it or label it as an editorial opinion. We don't paraphrase studies we haven't read.
4. We have a human editor review every piece.
No article publishes without a second editorial pass focused on accuracy, clarity, and tone. We use AI tools for research assistance and drafting; we never publish AI output without human review and citation verification.
5. We update as the science changes.
Every article carries a "Last reviewed" date. When a major guideline updates, a meaningful new study publishes, or a reader catches an error, we revise the article and note what changed at the bottom of the page.
